Scattered showers and storms will be possible across northern and central/east Utah Friday, from morning through evening. For the Wasatch Front, our best chances to see active weather will be in the morning. In the afternoon, it looks like areas north of SLC, especially closer to the Idaho border, will have scattered showers and storms. The southern half of the Wasatch Front may be more quiet through the afternoon before more storms roll through in the evening. Moral of the story: not a washout, hit or miss scattered storms. Any storm that develops can produce strong to severe winds, hail, and heavy rain. Central-east Utah and northeast Utah looks to be the most active with another elevated threat for flash flooding. As we head into Saturday, it seems some lingering showers will be possible across northern Utah. Best chances for rain will be along the UT/ID border, across the mountains, and in northeast Utah.
