Utah is sandwiched between high and low pressure systems, but neither are taking full control of the region. As a result, temperatures will be slightly above normal with benign weather conditions through Thursday. Some tropical remnant moisture moves in on Friday, producing some mountain showers and a 20% chance for the valleys - most stay dry. Saturday the wind will kick up quite a bit with widespread wind gusts up to 45 MPH possible. Most models in agreement that there isn't a ton of moisture available with this front, so it'll be mostly dry, but still some showers could be possible. A significant cool down in the wake of this front will drop temperatures roughly 20 degrees by Sunday. – Matt Johnson, KSL Weather 9.9.26
