Evening forecast August 20, 2026

It'll be another hot day Friday with very mild overnight lows and highs near 100. We're expecting more cloud coverage, and even a chance for a few isolated showers and storms to drift into northern Utah Friday evening. Most of the storms will be in the mountains from the Uintas down to south-central Utah, not only Friday but through the weekend as well. On Saturday, southwest Utah may get dry slotted, so best chances for storms may be in eastern Utah and northern Utah. Over the weekend, we'll keep a 40% chance for a few isolated storms to roll over northern Utah valleys. Not everyone will get a storm, but those that do may deal with gusty winds and brief heavy rain. Mountain t-storms will fire up across the state on Saturday with a 30-40% chance that we see a late afternoon/evening shower along the Wasatch Front. - Devan Masciulli, KSL Weather 8.20.26
