As we head into Saturday, showers and thunderstorms are expected to move in across northern and central Utah with a cold front. By the afternoon, this front is expected to stall between Evanston, WY and Ely, NV and will act as a focal point for continued showers and storms. Scattered storms across northern Utah will be strong to severe, capable of producing damaging winds up to 65mph, isolated large hail up to an inch, and flash flooding. The flash flooding threat will remain elevated statewide on Saturday and across southern Utah on Sunday. The front will start moving again on Sunday, pushing through the rest of the state. Looks like the best convection will be across eastern and southern Utah on Sunday, but still a chance for isolated storms everywhere else.
